Big Weekend for DC Research

DC Research were appointed by Carlisle City Council and Carlisle Tourism Partnership to assess the economic impact of BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Carlisle on 14th and 15th May 2011.

Featuring artists such as Lady Ga Ga, Foo Fighters, The Strokes and The Black Eyed Peas, Radio 1’s Big Weekend was attended by over 40,000 people, with priority given to local residents. Our research included visitor and business surveys, and discussion with a range of stakeholders involved in organising and promoting the event.
