Economic impact of Heart of Hawick

Heart of Hawick Economic Impacts report published

DC Research was commissioned by Heart of Hawick and Scottish Borders Council to carry out an economic impact assessment of the Heart of Hawick led regeneration programme.

Heart of Hawick is a £10 million arts and culture led regeneration project situated in the West End of Hawick in the Scottish Borders that is designed to contribute to the social, cultural and economic regeneration of Hawick and the wider Borders. The study assessed the economic impact of Heart of Hawick from construction to date. This involved a range of tasks including consultations with key groups such as: Heart of Hawick staff, cafe users, visitors, cinema users, Heritage Hub visitors, workspace tenants, local businesses and local schools.

An executive Summary of DC Research’s recent research for Scottish Borders Council into the economic impacts of the Heart of Hawick regeneration project has been published as part of the official opening of the Border Textile Towerhouse.
