Sponsor Jon’s cycle from Leicester to Skegness

Leicester to Skegness Charity Bike Ride 2013

Jon got to Skegness at 1105, after 4 hours and 46 minutes in the saddle, and 132km. So far he has raised over £200 for LOROS and other local charities (including Child Victims of Crime in Leicestershire, which Jon’s father-in-law does a lot of work for). The wind was not so kind this year, with the final 20 miles from Boston to Skegness spent riding into a head wind, but a great day nonetheless.

48 hours before riding from Leicester to Skegness, Jon kept his promise, and got his legs waxed for Thomas’s Fund. Whilst a little uncomfortable (to say the least), Jon has so far raised a further £228 for Thomas’s Fund.

Thomas’s Fund (http://www.thomassfund.org.uk) was set up in memory of Thomas Smith, eldest son of Jon’s friends Lucy and Tim. Thomas died at the age of 10 from a life-limiting neuro-degenerative condition in 2004. He lived a short life, unable to attend school all year round, but thanks to his family, his life was packed with fun – a big part of which came through music. Thank you very much for supporting Jon. No doubt he’ll be riding to Skegness again next year!
