Assessing the economic value and impact of Yorkshire Sculpture Park
DC Research was delighted to be appointed by Yorkshire Sculpture Park to undertake an assessment of the Park’s economic value. The study, which was published in November 2011, included capturing the value of the Park to the local economy in terms of visitors and tourism, employment, procurement and commercial impacts, the contribution the Park makes to national and local strategies and priorities, and understanding the catalytic and added value impacts of the Park to Wakefield, Barnsley and the surrounding area.
The research was cited by The Rt Hon Maria Miller MP, the Government’s Culture Secretary, in her speech about the importance of economic impact in making the case for culture in April 2013 (click here to see the speech in full).
