A Researcher at DC Research, Christopher joined the team in early 2015 providing research support across the full spectrum of DC Research’s projects.
In his role as Researcher, Chris assists the Directors through a variety of support tasks, such as documentation collection and collation, web searching, data inputting, and survey administration tasks.
Chris graduated from the University of Exeter in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations. During his University studies, Chris carried out extensive document and content analysis in the production of various essays and portfolios, covering a range of domestic, European and broader international political dynamics.
Throughout the course, Chris developed and consolidated new research skills in research methods and techniques. He had the opportunity to put these skills into practice, both through the course, in a policy brief produced for the HACAN ClearSkies, and through independent work experience with Coventry City Council.
At the conclusion of his studies, Chris researched and authored a final year dissertation, in which he proposed amendments to existing research practices in the area of video games, towards the development of a new positivist approach to research in the field. After graduating, Chris also briefly spent some time volunteering with the National Trust, in order to expand upon his interest in the heritage sector in the UK.
Since joining DC Research, Chris has already carried out various project specific tasks including, and has assisted on several projects, including:
- Building Bideford’s Cultural Offer, Devon County Council
- Evaluation of HLF Catalyst: capacity building programmes, Heritage Lottery Fund
- Evaluation Reports for the Creative Enterprise Hub project, Leicester City Council
