Museums and Strategic Commissioning – support and development

DC Research is currently delivering the ‘Creative Communities’ project across the five South West Renaissance Hub Museums that aims to support the museums in making progress on the strategic commissioning agenda.

The purpose of the research is to support the museums in determining achievable funding streams via commissioning to help sustain the partner museums into the future by supporting the diversification of their income streams. The study will include: an assessment of the museums ‘readiness to deliver’ against the commissioning opportunities, developing a realistic understanding of current and emerging commissioning opportunities, and making the fit between readiness and opportunities – including identifying quick wins, enabling actions and recommendations to enable museums to exploit future opportunities.
